"Tea Time"

As a quilter, I am also ending up with little bits of fabric, also known as "Strings". They are too big to throw away, but too small to really do anything with. However, since my grandmother taught me to "Waste not, want not." I had to keep them. Finally I remembered my book "Strips and Strings" and browsed through that. An entire book based on using up those little leftover bits of fabric! I pulled out all the blue strings that I could find from my bin, and didn't even make a dent in the bin. Add to that some white for setting squares, and soon Tea Time was born. Although rather an innovative idea of using the strings, the setting is traditional, and I decided it needed a traditional quilting design. Feathered wreaths in the setting squares, a feather meander in the blue portion of the blocks. There is a narrow white border which has tiny little feathers in it. I do seem to love my feathers. This quilt measures 49"x49", and has a polyester batting so that it has more loft than the cotton batts. The fabrics are 100% cotton, machine wash and dry. $150
